Steelers Practice Report: Russ Wants to Work, Injury Updates
Pittsburgh Steelers Practice Report: Russell Wilson wants to play in the preseason. Big day of injury comings and goings.
UNITY TWP., Pa. — The Pittsburgh Steelers had their 12th training camp practice of 2024 on Tuesday at St. Vincent College, and Alan Saunders of Steelers Now was there to break it all down.
The Steelers were once again in pads and got some solid contributions from players returning from injury, as Patrick Queen, Jeremiah Moon, Kyron Johnson, Rodney Williams and Grayland Arnold all returned to practice in full.
There were three in-practice injuries, as Breiden Fehoko and DeShon Elliott left practice. Darius Rush was looked at but returned to work.
The big news of the day was a full practice from Russell Wilson, his first of training camp. Wilson will not play in the preseason opener against the Houston Texans, but said he does want to play at least some this preseason. Wilson continues to look good and show no ill effects of his early-cap calf injury.
Elsewhere, George Pickens made another one of his freakish one-handed catches, Jonathan Ward had another strong practice and John Rhys Plumlee returned a kickoff for a touchdown.
All that and more in today’s Steelers practice report.
