The Pittsburgh Steelers can sign up to 17 players on Wednesday to fill their practice squad ahead of the 2024 season. The club can sign 16 regular roster players and one exempt international player, since their previous exemption won’t be used with Julius Welschof on the injured reserve list.
The Steelers started that process on Wednesday night, bringing in former Philadelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott, who had been cut early by the Los Angeles Rams. They also intend to bring back running back Jonathan Ward, one of the team’s own cuts that did not need to clear waivers.
For the rest of the Steelers cuts this week, they’ll have to clear waivers first before they can be added to the practice squad in Pittsburgh or elsewhere.
