The Steelers have placed nose tack Isaiah Buggs and running back Anthony McFarland Jr. on the COVID-19 reserve list, the team announced on Thursday.

With the team’s flight to Kansas City looking on Saturday for Sunday’s game, it seems unlikely that either player will be able to test out of the COVID-19 protocol in time to make the trip.

Buggs missed the Steelers’ game against the Titans last week with an injury, but returned to practice in full on Wednesday, when he was one of just five available defensive linemen from the 53-man roster.

Fellow nose tackle Montravius Adams Sr. is also on the COVID-19 list and end Chris Wormley is battling a groin injury.

McFarland has been a healthy scratch most of this season since returning from a preseason knee injury.

Buggs and McFarland join Adams, tackle Zach Banner and inside linebackers Marcus Allen and Devin Bush on the Steelers’ COVID-19 list.

The Chiefs have 10 players on the list, including kicker Harrison Butler, who has been ruled out of the game due to being unvaccinated.
