Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger Active, Expected to Start vs. Washington

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will dress and is the expected start for the team’s game against Washington on Monday after being listed as questionable with a knee issue on the team’s final injury report.

Roethlisberger completed the Steelers’ Week 12 win over Baltimore last Wednesday without apparent issue and was not mentioned as a player with an injury issue by head coach Mike Tomlin on either Wednesday night or Thursday.

But Roethlisberger did not practice all week with a “not injury related/knee” designation and was officially deemed questionable for the game in Pittsburgh’s final injury report on Saturday.

Roethlisberger has already played once this season when not practicing at all in the week leading up to a game, when he was on the COVID-19 reserve list as a close contact of COVID-19 positive tight end Vance McDonald before the Steelers visited the Dallas Cowboys in November.
