Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger passed another major career milestone Monday, placing him amidst an exclusive fraternity in NFL history.

With a nine-yard completion to wide receiver Chase Claypool in the fourth quarter, Roethlisberger became just the seventh quarterback in NFL history to pass for 60,000 career yards.

The 18-year veteran joins Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Philip Rivers and Dan Marino in the elite club, accomplishing a feat that combines both talent and longevity.

Among that group, Roethlisberger, Brady and Manning are the only three to pass for 60,000 yards and win two Super Bowls.

Not only did Roethlisberger overtake the passing yardage mark, but the 38-year-old also became just the sixth quarterback in league history to throw 5,000 career completions.

He did so on a nine-yard completion to wideout Diontae Johnson late in the first half.

The other members of that group include all of the quarterbacks previously mentioned minus Marino, who completed 4,967 career passes.

Both accomplishments are impressive window dressings on a Hall of Fame résumé for Roethlisberger, who already entered Monday owning the Steelers franchise records for completions (4,996), passing yards (59,837), touchdowns (392) and wins (155).
