Steelers QB Justin Fields Returns Kickoff in Madden Trailer
The newly released trailer for EA Sports Madden NFL 25 has quarterback Justin Fields returning kicks for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The trailer for EA Sports Madden NFL 25 game was released on Thursday, and it shows something that some Pittsburgh Steelers fans have been clamoring for, right from the start. The trailer starts with the kickoff at Cleveland Browns stadium, and when the camera pans around, it’s Steelers quarterback Justin Fields returning the kickoff for Pittsburgh.
In the video, Fields takes the kickoff and makes a reverse handoff to regular kickoff returner Cordarrelle Patterson before the trailer cuts to clips of games between other teams.

Steelers running back Jaylen Warren turned heads earlier this offseason, when he said that special teams coordinator Danny Smith had suggested using Fields as a return man.
Fields clarified at OTAs that Smith was simply sending a message that anyone on the team could be asked to play a special teams role, not that the team intends to use Fields as a kickoff returner.
“Nah, I’m not here to do that,” Fields said. “It was kind of a joke, to be honest with you. I think everybody kind of interpreted it wrong.”
Fields is expected to compete with Russell Wilson for the starting quarterback role in training camp. What happens if Fields loses that battle is up in the air, though. It seems likely that the Steelers will want Fields to have some type of role.

Of course, players in Madden can have whoever they want returning kicks, and Fields does have elite open-field speed and athleticism. Getting the virtual version of Fields hit more often doesn’t hurt as badly, either.
Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt is also featured in the trailer, making a tackle on Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London at Acrisure Stadium.
The game is available for pre-order now and will come out on Aug. 16.
