Steelers Quarterback Target Runs Blazing 40-Yard Dash at Pro Day
Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe turned heads at his Pro Day with the Pittsburgh Steelers brass in attendance.

Just one day after the Pittsburgh Steelers wined and dined Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, he put the NFL on notice at his Pro Day.
The school announced that Milroe ran a blazing 4.37-second 40-yard-dash on one of his attempts.
According to The Athletic’s Jeff Howe, that is far better than what many in attendance were expecting. The buzz among scouts was that he would run in the mid-4.4s.
Either way, Milroe helped his draft stock on Wednesday. The 22-year-old has been viewed as a fringe Day 2 pick for much of the offseason.
At the 2025 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama last month, Milroe did not have a great week of practice, often lacking in accuracy and displaying subpar decision-making in the pocket.

At the NFL Combine, Milroe cleared up a wonky hand-size measurement from the Senior Bowl, with a just-below-average 9 3/8-inch measurement, but he did not participate in testing.
However, now it’s difficult to imagine him making it past the third round. That puts the Steelers, who were in attendance, in an interesting position.
Pittsburgh doesn’t own its 2025 second-round pick following its trade with the Seattle Seahawks for wide receiver DK Metcalf and it is far too risky to use the No. 21 overall pick on Milroe.
So barring a trade, the Steelers will have to wait until the No. 83 overall pick in the third round to see if Milroe is still on the board.
That just got a little less likely after Milroe showed off his elite athleticism during his Alabama Pro Day.
Over the past two seasons at Alabama, Milroe threw for 5,678 yards, 39 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. He also rushed for 1,257 yards and 32 touchdowns during the span.
