Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin provided an update to several of the team’s key injuries on Tuesday for Kevin Dotson, Najee Harris, Ahkello Witherspoon, and Minkah Fitzpatrick  — the first two of which had a part in the team’s success in the run game in Sunday’s win.

Dotson is dealing with a hip injury and might be limited. He helped pave the way for Harris and Jaylen Warren — who went for 99 and 37 yards, respectively. Dotson has played 100% of the offense’s snaps this season.

Harris could be limited, as well, as he’s dealing with a knee issue. He was part of a ground attack that collaborated for 217 yards. It was the best output the Steelers have had in six years.

Harris was also momentarily pulled from the clash to be checked for a concussion, but was cleared shortly thereafter. The former first-round pick’s production on the day was a sight for Pittsburgh fans’ sore eyes.

Rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett also played a part, rushing for 51 yards and a score on eight totes. Most of those carries were improvised scrambles.

On the defensive side of the ball, Tomlin said Witherspoon (hamstring) is being monitored. Fitzpatrick ran Tuesday and is said to be optimistic about his potential inclusion.

The defense allowed 186 yards and only one touchdown, as the return of linebacker T.J. Watt made a noticeable difference. Damontae Kazee grabbed an interception in his Steelers debut, while Levi Wallace notched a pick also.

It doesn’t seem like the defense has reached its full potential with absences from Watt, Kazee, Fitzpatrick, linebacker Myles Jack, and others throughout the course of the year.

Against Cincinnati Sunday afternoon, the unit will aim to return to its Week 1 form, when it harassed Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow into turnovers that helped seal a season-opening victory.

The home game against the Bengals will kick off at 4:25 p.m on CBS.
