Steelers RB Najee Harris No Longer Wearing Wristband for Unvaccinated Players

Steelers first-round rookie Najee Harris was not wearing a yellow/green wristband at practice on Wednesday, signifying that he has been fully vaccinated in accordance with NFL protocols.

Harris and fellow running back Benny Snell Jr. were the two players that had been identified as wearing wristbands through the first few sessions of Steelers training camp. Snell was still wearing one of the wristbands on Wednesday.

Head coach Mike Tomlin said at minicamp in late June that some players were still in the process of getting vaccinated. A player getting his first shot at the start of training camp would just be exiting the two-week period after receiving the second shot.

The team is over 90% vaccinated, according to a report by NFL Network on Tuesday, which would mean no more than eight players could be unvaccinated. Some players wear long sleeves, making it difficult to tell if they are wearing wristbands.

Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert told reporters on Tuesday that he would not give a specific number of vaccinated players.
