The Pittsburgh Steelers re-signed cornerback Isaiah Johnson to a future contract for the 2022 season, the team announced on Wednesday. Johnson spent one week on the Steelers’ practice squad during the 2021 season.

A 6-foot-2, 210-pound cornerback out of Houston, Johnson just completed his third professional season. He was a fourth-round draft pick of the Oakland Raiders in 2019 and played in 19 games with Raiders over his first two seasons, recording 15 tackles and defending five passes.

Johnson was waived by the Raiders at the end of training camp before the 2021 season. He spent a week with the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squads in October before joining the Steelers on Dec. 14. He was released by the Steelers on Dec. 20. Johnson then spent another week on Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad.
