The Steelers released their 2020 season schedule on Thursday, in advance of the NFL’s league-wide announcement on ESPN.
Unlike most years, the Steelers will open the regular season against an NFC team on the road when they take on the New York Giants. The Week 1 game will also be Pittsburgh’s first on national television, with the game being Monday Night Football on ESPN. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15.
The Steelers will play on prime time at least four times, facing the New Giants in Week 1, the Baltimore Ravens on Thanksgiving evening, on Sunday Night Football at the Buffalo Bills in Week 14 and on Monday Night at the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 15.
It will be the sixth time the Steelers opened their season on Monday Night Football, with the last time coming in 2016. They opened on Sunday night in 2019, one of five prime-time games last season. Then NFL’s flex scheduling could add to that total, with games in weeks five through 17 eligible to be shifted.
The Steelers first divisional matchup doesn’t happen until a Week 6 showdown with the Browns at Heinz Field. The next week will see the Steelers travel to Baltimore to face another AFC North rival.
