Report: Steelers Release DL Casey Sayles

In an effort to continue to cut down the roster before the regular season gets underway, the Steelers have released defensive lineman Casey Sayles, according to College2Pro.com’s report. Sayles just signed with Pittsburgh on August 1st after playing in the AAF with the Birmingham Iron.

The 23-year-old Ohio University product started his career with the Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2017. This isn’t the first time Sayles has been signed and then cut by the Steelers. Pittsburgh signed him to a reserve/futures contract in January of 2018 before eventually waiving him the following September.

Sayles has yet to actually play in a regular season NFL game.
