The Denver Broncos have waived former Steelers center Patrick Morris, according to a report by Mike Klis of KUSA in Denver.
Morris, 26, spent the 2018 and 2019 seasons on the Steelers’ practice squad before he was claimed on waivers by the Broncos on Dec. 3, 2019.
He spent the rest of the 2019 season and all of 2020 with the Broncos, playing one game in 2019 and two games in 2020.
The Steelers’ depth chart at center has recently become thin, with starter J.C. Hassenauer and backup B.J. Finney both suffering injuries in camp practices over the weekend. Finney has since returned. Hassenauer, who suffered a knee injury, is still out.
Third-round rookie Kendrick Green has stepped up into a larger role with Hassenauer out.
