Beating the Bengals undoubtedly felt sweet for the Steelers –– and the Pittsburgh crew wasn’t shy about showing it on Twitter.
The Steelers narrowly escaped Cincinnati with a 23-20 win during Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season. But a win is a win, a point the team made clear with its online celebration.
It started with this one, a beautiful clap-back to the Bengals’ Twitter bio, which teased “What are they even steeling?” before the game.

This came after the Steelers dominated the first half of the game, securing four turnovers and setting the tone in the intense rivalry game.
But wait –– there’s more. A whole lot more.
First came this gem:

Then came the kicker –– literally.

That one double dips on the references, beautifully weaving SpongeBob SquarePants with Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin’s amazing pregame gift for his squad.
The Steelers Twitter account could’ve stopped there. The game was over, after all. Evan McPherson missed a chip shot, Chris Boswell sent the dagger through the uprights, and the Steelers were 1-0.
But they couldn’t help themselves.
At 10:01 p.m. –– hours after the game ended –– the Steelers’ Twitter account decided, “Maybe just one more…”

Gorgeous.
The Steelers rode high after that one, and for good reason. The Bengals are not only division rivals, but they stomped the Steelers twice in 2021 en route to winning the AFC outright and advancing to the Super Bowl.
In the eyes of most, the Bengals are the team to beat in the AFC North. The Steelers had something to say about that.
Oh, and you better believe the whole cast was feeling it after the victory.
Check out this video Steelers linebacker Marcus Allen posted to his Instagram account after the game:

Yes, that is Mike Tomlin doing the Antonio Brown Put That S**t On dance. It’s almost as if we’ve entered the Twilight Zone.
Your 2022 Pittsburgh Steelers, ladies and gentlemen.
