Steelers Rule Out Yet Another Starter vs. Ravens
The Pittsburgh Steelers have downgraded strong safety DeShon Elliott from doubtful to out for Saturday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Elliott was listed as doubtful after being a limited in practice on Thursday. He will miss his second straight game with a hamstring injury suffered against the Cleveland Browns in Week 14.
To replace Elliott, Minkah Fitzpatrick will once again move to strong safety, with Damontae Kazee and Cam Sutton filling in at free safety. The Steelers did not choose to dress an extra defesnive back in place of Elliott against the Philadelphia Eagles last week.
Cornerback Cory Trice Jr. could be dressed this week, and safety Eric Rowe is a potential candidate to be elevated from the practice squad, though no announcement was made alongside Elliott being downgraded.
