PITTSBURGH — Steelers safety Keanu Neal suffered an injury on his interception return. Patrick Peterson batted the ball, and Neal returned it out of the end zone, but he got tackled from behind and suffered an injury. The injury is undisclosed and Neal’s status has not been reported by the team.

Neal is the second Steelers defender in a thinner position to get banged up. Kwon Alexander left the game on the first drive of the game with a leg injury and did not return. Pittsburgh is already without Cole Holcomb for the entire season after suffering a knee injury against the Titans. Now, Neal is out. Pittsburgh is already without Minkah Fitzpatrick, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Trenton Thompson, Miles Killebrew, and Elijah Riley will play more without Neal on the football field.

Neal entered the blue medical tent and came out with his helmet and shoulder pads. Damontae Kazee will lead the unit the rest of the way if Neal cannot return. Neal tested it out on the sideline by jogging. It is unknown if the Steelers will allow Neal to return. The team may have to make one last stand with the offense still possessing the ball at the two minute warning.
