NFL Draft Steelers Transactions
Steelers Select Diontae Johnson With the 66th Overall Pick
The Steelers started day two of the 2019 NFL Draft with no second round picks and two third round picks.
With their first third round pick, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Toledo WR Diontae Johnson.
Johnson presents the Steelers with a shifty wide receiver that possesses great open field running abilities with precise route-running. Johnson also has shown himself to be a valuable return man on special teams as well.
Johnson, a first team All-MAC receiver and punt returner, will look to replace the route running abilities left by Antonio Brown. With receivers such as Hakeem Butler and Jalen Hurd still on the board, many Steelers fans may be hesitant to welcome Johnson with open arms.
However, if there’s one organization that can be trusted to mold wide receivers, it is indeed the Pittsburgh Steelers.
What can you expect from Diontae Johnson?
