The Pittsburgh Steelers were among the teams to interview Pitt safety Donovan McMillon at the 2025 Hula Bowl, according to a report by Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network.

McMillon, a 6-foot-1 5/8, 208-pound Peters Township native, played two seasons with the Panthers after initially attending Florida. He started at safety in both seasons for Pitt, recording 105 tackles, a pass defended and a forced fumble in 2023 and the 115 tackles, one for a loss, a forced fumble, nine passes defended and one interception this past season.

McMillon spent three seasons at Florida mostly as a backup and special teamer before transferring to Pitt. He was a four-star prospect coming out of Peters Township, and was ranked as the No. 6 safety in the country and No. 6 player in Pennsylvania by 247 Sports.

According to Fowler, McMillon also met with the San Francisco 49ers, Washington Commanders, Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers while at the Hula Bowl.

The Hula Bowl is generally perceived as the third-tier college all-star game, behind the Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine Game. It was played in Orlando this year.

The Steelers could be looking for safety additions in 2025. Regular backup free safety Damontae Kazee is set to become a free agent. The team did sign former New England Patriots safety Joshuah Bledsoe to a future contract on Tuesday.

In addition to McMillon, the Steelers met with Wisconsin linebacker Jaheim Thomas, Iowa linebacker Nick Jackson, Utah running back Micah Bernard and UCF running back Peny Boone.
