2025 NFL Draft NFL Combine Steelers News
Steelers Set to Meet with Small-School OT with Mike Tomlin Ties

The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of several teams that will host a formal combine interview with a small-school offensive line prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft who has ties to Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
According to a report by Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network, the Steelers are among the teams with a formal interview scheduled with William & Mary lineman Charles Grant.
Grant is 6-foot—4 and 300 pounds and is a native of Portsmouth, Virginia. While at Williams & Mary, he was twice named a first-team All-CAA tackle and twice named an FCS All-American.
Most NFL Draft projections have Grant moving from left tackle, where he played at the FCS level, to guard in the NFL, which is a common move. He is currently rated as the No. 8 guard in the class and the No. 104 overall player at NFL Mock Draft Database.

Grant accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl, but could not attend, so Tomlin and the Steelers weren’t able to talk to him in Mobile. Tomlin, of course, also attended Williams & Mary, where he played wide receiver from 1990-94.
The Steelers could be in the market for another offensive lineman or two this offseason, despite using four picks over the first four rounds of the last two draft classes. They do not appear to be retaining guard James Daniels and fellow guard Isaac Seumalo will be a free agent after the 2025 season, so they could be looking for a future replacement.
The Steelers are also letting starting left tackle Dan Moore Jr. hit free agency, meaning they will need a swing backup for Troy Fautanu and Broderick Jones.
Grant will be a popular interview this week, as he also reportedly has formal visits scheduled with the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans.
