Steelers Sights and Sounds: Big Man at Practice

PITTSBURGH — Minkah Fitzpatrick’s Pittsburgh debut on Wednesday was the big story from Steelers practice.

But he wasn’t the only getting his first work in. Quarterback Paxton Lynch joined the team’s practice squad on Wednesday and can be seen here towering over the rest of the Ben Roethlisberger-less quarterbacks group.

It’s easy to see what the Denver Broncos liked when they took the 6-foot-7 quarterback out of Memphis with a first-round draft pick.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday that the Steelers like Lynch’s skillset and also that he was eligible to be placed on the practice squad as a third-year player.

Steelers running back James Conner could also be seen in the below photographs returning to work on Thursday as he attempts to come back this week from a knee injury suffered last Sunday. Conner did not practice Wednesday, but said he plans on playing this week.
