UNITY TWP., Pa. —Father Time is undefeated, but Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Cam Heyward has had a longer winning record against the sands of time than almost any other player to play his position in recent memory. The 35-year-old literal graybeard had a rocky 2023 season. After multiple surgeries, Heyward says he’s back to full health for the 2024 season. Looking for a contract extension and to play two more years after this one at the NFL level, Heyward might need to prove to the Steelers that he can still be the kind of player that he was in 2022.

But he said at the start of camp that he feels like he only needs to prove it to himself. Either way, the old grizzly bear has been leading the charge for the defensive line in drills through camp, and was out-pacing even the likes of T.J. Watt in this pass-rush drill during the hottest day of training camp so far on Sunday.
