PITTSBURGH — The Black and Gold returned to the practice field on Wednesday with plenty of changes from the last time they donned pads and helmets.
Absent is All-Pro quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, out for the season, but the Steelers also have a new addition in the form of defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick, acquired on Monday from the Miami Dolphins for a first-round draft pick.
Also out of action for at least at eight weeks is starting free safety Sean Davis, who was placed on injured reserve to open a roster spot for Fitzpatrick on Tuesday. Head coach Mike Tomlin said that Fitzpatrick will take Davis’ place as the starting free safety.
That’s where he was working early on Wednesday, getting tutelage from defensive backs coach Tom Bradley alongside starting safety Terrell Edmunds and slot corner Mike Hilton in the below photographs and video.
