UNITY TWP., Pa. — The second day of Pittsburgh Steelers training camp practice for the 2022 was greeted by a torrential downpour at St. Vincent College on Thursday.

The Steelers moved their practice from the main field in front of the bleachers at Chuck Noll Field over the turf field in the corner of the facility, but otherwise were able to get their entire practice regimen in as scheduled.

“I love the uncertainty of the weather, man,” head coach Mike Tomlin said. “It forces us to be light on our feet and adaptable. It challenges them from a mindset standpoint. It’s just opportunities to teach and learn and for guys to show their football character and enthusiasm and passion for the game.”

The rain brought a focus on ball control, which went just so-so for the offense. On defense, new tackle Larry Ogunjobi didn’t participate in team drills for the second straight day as he recovers from foot surgery, but even in the rain, he didn’t seem slowed by it at all during individual work.
