Steelers Sights & Sounds: Calvin Austin III Practices after Concussion
Pittsburgh Steelers Sights & Sounds: Wide receiver Calvin Austin III returned to practice after leaving Sunday's game with a concussion.
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III practiced with the team on Wednesday, after being placed in the NFL concussion protocol after leaving Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals in the second quarter.
Austin, who also serves as the team’s primary punt returner, had two catches for 29 yards and a touchdown before leaving Sunday’s game. He has touchdowns in two straight and in three of the team’s last five games.
Austin was wearing a new helmet at practice, possibly in connection with the concussion he suffered from a hit by Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt on Sunday. Austin left the game on the final drive of the second quarter after taking the hit from Taylor-Britt and did not return.
Elsewhere, outside linebacker Alex Highsmith (ankle), defensive tackle Montravius Adams (knee) and cornerback Cory Trice (hamstring) all practiced as they seem near to returning from their injuries.
