PITTSBURGH — There was a lot happening in the final practice session of the week for the Pittsburgh Steelers at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Wednesday. First-round pick Troy Fautanu continued his rehab, two offensive linemen were at new positions and more.
Fautanu is working back from an MCL sprain, working with the team in stretching and doing some pass sets off to the side on his own. He said he intends to practice next week and is closing in on a return.
Elsewhere on the offensive line, Dan Moore Jr. took a couple of reps at right tackle for the first time this season, as the Steelers practiced with just two healthy tackles — Moore and Broderick Jones. Mason McCormick continued his work at center, as well.
On defense, DeMarvin Leal took drills as the second-team outside linebacker behind T.J. Watt. With Kyron Johnson released and Jeremiah Moon and Julius Welschof on injured reserve, that’s another position with minimal depth.
