PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson took a step forward at practice on Thursday, doing footwork drills during the individual portion on practice after having just thrown on Wednesday.

Wilson will probably need to get to full practice participation by the end of the week to have a chance to face his old team, the Denver Broncos, in Week 2 on Sunday. Otherwise, Justin Fields will make his second consecutive start.

Left tackle Dan Moore Jr. returned to practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday’s session with a minor right ankle injury. He is expected to be able to play on Sunday.

With Moore back in the fold, second-year tackle Broderick Jones flipped back to the right side at least some, blocking with a tight end on his right in this clip.
