PITTSBURGH —In a change from the last few weeks, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson was working as the first quarterback through the drill line during the team’s indoor Wednesday pracitce at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.

Wilson had been working as the last quarterback through the drill lines while he was limited by his calf injury and serving as the emergency third quarterback. Last week, when he served as a healthy backuop to Justin Fields, Wilson was second through the line.

That’s an indication, but certainly not a definitive sign, that Wilson will make his Steelers debut as the starter this week.

Elsehwhere, outside linebacker Alex Highsmith looks set to make his return from a groin injury that has held him out the last three weeks.
