Steelers Sign 7th-Round QB Chris Oladokun to Rookie Contract
The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed their last selection from the 2022 NFL Draft, as South Dakota State quarterback Chris Oladokun has agreed to sign his four-year rookie deal, according to the NFL Transactions page for Friday.
Oladokun was picked 241st overall in the seventh round as the Steelers bookended the draft with quarterbacks Kenny Pickett as their first pick and Oladokun the last.
Financial terms of the deal were not released. OverTheCap estimates a $705,000 salary for 2022 and a $105,892 signing bonus as the financial allocations for a seventh-round pick.
Oladokun, 24, transferred to South Dakota State for the 2021 season following stints at South Florida and Samford. With the Jackrabbits, he threw for 3,164 total yards and 25 touchdowns along with seven interceptions in 15 games last year. Oladokun also ran for 166 yards and two touchdowns on 73 attempts. Oladokun’s best performance was a four touchdown day in the Jackrabbits’ second game of the year facing Lindenwood.
The Steelers have also signed second-round wide receiver George Pickens, sixth-round tight end/fullback Connor Heyward, and seventh-round linebacker Mark Robinson. First-round pick Kenny Pickett, third-rounder DeMarvin Leal and fourth-round selection Calvin Austin III have not signed.
