Steelers Sign K Sam Sloman to Practice Squad
The Pittsburgh Steelers signed kicker Sam Sloman to their practice squad, the team announced on Saturday.
It’s the second straight week that the Steelers added Sloman to their practice squad in advance of a game. The move serves as insurance in case kicker Chris Boswell tests positive for COVID-19 on game day.
Sloman was with the Steelers in training camp this offseason and has had two previous stints on the practice squad.
A 2020 seventh-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams, Sloman has played in eight NFL games, making 10 of 13 field goals. All three of his misses were blocked.
To make room for Sloman on the practice squad, the Steelers released wide receiver Tyler Vaughns.
