PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have ruled running back Jaylen Warren questionable against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11, the team announced on Friday.
It’s unclear when or how Warren was injured. The Steelers’ No. 2 running back completed the team’s game against the Washington Commanders on Sunday without apparent injury, and was even in the game on Mike Williams’ game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
Warren was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, but did not practice on Thursday with a back injury, and was limited in practice again on Friday before being ruled out. Warren watched practice from the sidelines, carrying a football around due to his fourth-quarter fumble against the Commanders.
Najee Harris, who suffered an ankle injury against the Commanders before eventually returning, will play against the Ravens this week. He missed practice on Wednesday but was a full participant for the second straight day on Friday.
The Steelers will need to call up a running back from the practice squad to replace Warren. Jonathan Ward and Aaron Shampklin are their options. Ward has played in four games this season and Shampklin three.
The Ravens will probably be glad to miss Warren. In four career games against Baltimore, the third-year back has rushed for 160 yards and caught 13 passes for another 94, giving him 254 yards from scrimmage against Baltimore. He’s only done more damage against the Cleveland Browns.
