INGLEWOOD, Calif. — The Pittsburgh Steelers came out of their bye week to face the Los Angeles Rams with scant few injuries to report, and they are leaving L.A. with nearly a clean bill of health.
Inside linebacker Cole Holcomb was the only injury reported by head coach Mike Tomlin after the Steelers’ 24-17 win over the Los Angeles Rams.
Holcomb said he stepped on someone else’s foot while making a tackle on a running play and rolled his right ankle over. Holcomb came out of the game briefly to get his ankle taped and returned. He said he’ll be fine moving forward.
Other than that, only three Steelers players missed the game with injury. Defensive tackle Cam Heyward is expected to miss two more games after core muscle surgery and tight end Pat Freiermuth will miss at least the next four weeks after aggravating his hamstring injury. Running back Anthony McFarland remains on the injured reserve, but he practiced fully this week and seems mostly recovered from the knee issue that landed him on the IR in Week 2.
The Steelers will have another long flight home and will likely have Monday and Tuesday off before returning to action on the practice field on Wednesday to prepare for the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8.
