The Steelers will look into the cornerback market this offseason to shore up a position that has given them plenty of trouble this season. Even with the breakout of Joey Porter Jr. and better play of Patrick Peterson, the group needs to add more. The good news for the Steelers is that the free-agency cornerback class looks strong, and there should be plenty of options to dive into and grab.

Bleacher Report has an idea of who they could add right now, though. Former Browns cornerback Greedy Williams is a free agent, and they believe that the team could look into signing him, which could very well help boost a room that will need some help down the stretch.

“The Steelers’ playoff hopes are quickly circling the drain. They might be shifting some of their focus to finding solutions for the 2024 roster as the season progresses, so it would make sense to bring in some young players for the final stretch of the season. Patrick Peterson and Levi Wallace have taken a lot of reps this season but aren’t long-term solutions. Someone like Greedy Williams might be worth looking into. Williams is a former second-round pick with a 6’2″, 185-pound frame and just turned 26 years old,” they wrote.

The former second-round pick signed with the Philadelphia Eagles last offseason but did not make the final team. Since then, he has not landed with an NFL team but could be waiting for the right opportunity. He has had 99 tackles and two interceptions since entering the league in 2019 with the Browns. His up-and-down play became his trademark in Cleveland, but he carries playmaking skills and athleticism that give him some considerable upside even in his career. Pittsburgh is using a rotation of options with Levi Wallace, Darius Rush, and James Pierre at different points to patch the room for now.
