Steelers tight end Vance McDonald tested positive for COVID-19. McDonald has been placed on the COVID/Reserve list.

This news comes less than an hour after the Steelers announced they received word a player tested positive.

McDonald, who missed practice on Friday with what was referred to as an “illness,” traveled to Dallas the following day. McDonald then played 20 snaps on Sunday in the team’s win over the Cowboys.

It’s worth noting, based on the NFL’s current COVID protocol, team’s do not find out the results of players tested before a Sunday game until Monday.
