Steelers tight end Zach Gentry left the team’s game with the Jacksonville Jaguars with a left knee injury and will not return, the team announced.

Gentry, the Steelers’ third tight end, saw some playing time early against the Jaguars with usual co-starter Vance McDonald on the COVID-19 reserve list. He played 14 snaps against Cincinnati in Week 10 in his first action of the season.

With Gentry down, the Steelers have just one healthy tight end remaining, starter Eric Ebron. Offensive tackle Jerald Hawkins has worked as an extra tight end at times this season.

Gentry was the Steelers’ fifth-round draft pick out of Michigan in 2019 and has played in five games in his career, primarily as a blocker. He has one career catch for four yards.
