The Pittsburgh Steelers have one of the most expensive ticket prices in the country, when you compare them to the average salary in the area.

According to a study by Sidelines, using ticket price data from Seat Geek, and labor statistics, the Steelers have the fifth-most expensive tickets in the league when compared to local average salary.

The average cost of cheapest ticket available for each of the Steelers’ 2023 home games is $209. According to the Pennsylvania Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the average weekly wage int he state is $1,325.

So a Pittsburgh fan looking to buy a ticket this fall will have to spend, on average, 15.77% of their weekly income to do so. Broken down by component, the Steelers have the third-most expensive tickets, with only the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles having higher prices. Pennsylvania’s average income is closer to the middle of the road among NFL teams.

That figure is the fifth-highest in the league. The Green Bay Packers have the most expensive tickets compared to area wages, at 17.67% of weekly salary. They’re followed by the Dallas Cowboys (17.36%), Philadelphia Eagles (17.10%) and Kansas City Chiefs (17.09%).

On the bargain end of the spectrum, the Houston Texans have the cheapest tickers, at 4.54% of weekly earnings. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts round out the top five.

Perhaps Pittsburgh fans priced out at home could try a road trip. The Steelers visit the Texans on Oct. 1 and the Colts on Dec. 17 this season.
