Steelers Tickets Still Tough to Get Despite 1-4 Start
Despite struggles on the field to start the 2022 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers remain a strong draw at the box office, with tickets for this Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Acrisure Stadium still among the hardest-to-get in the NFL this weekend.
Steelers-Buccaneers tickets are the second-most expensive seats in the NFL this weekend, according to research by ticket marketplace Vivid Seats, behind only the top AFC matchup of the Buffalo Bills at the Kansas City Chiefs.
Additionally, the game featuring the return of Tom Brady to Pittsburgh, perhaps for the final time, is one of the toughest tickets to get for the Steelers in a while. Vivid Seats says that tickets for Steelers-Buccaneers are the hottest tickets at the stadium since the start of the 2021 season.
As of early Thursday afternoon, the cheapest price available for two tickets for Sunday’s game was $135 each via StubHub. Those prices are higher than secondary market tickets were for the home opener against New England.
The Steelers announced attendance of 66,578 against the New York Jets in Week 4 and 67,307 for the home opener against the New England Patriots in Week 2.
The Steelers 1-4 start is the worst since 2019, when the club also went 1-4 in the aftermath of an injury to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers won their sixth game that season and won seven of the next eight. Brady was also part of that early-season rut, beating the Steelers in the 2019 season opener when he was still with the New England Patriots.
