Although the 2022 schedule won’t be released until later tonight, the Pittsburgh Steelers are already aware of who and where they will be playing this upcoming season, and they have the 12th-toughest schedule in the NFL this season.
Their opponents have an average 2021 winning percentage of .512 tied for 12th in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers. The Los Angeles Rams sit far above the rest of the league with an opponent winning percentage of .567 while the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders will have the NFL’s easiest schedules with an opponent winning percentage of .462.
This year the AFC North teams will face the AFC East and the NFC South this season The remaining nine games will be six among divisional opponents and two more against the AFC South and AFC West teams that finished at the same spot in their division. The 17th game will be against a team from the NFC East that finished at the same spot in the division.
At home the Steelers will play the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, New England Patriots, New York Jets, New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On the road the team will face Ravens, Bengals and Browns, as well as the Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles.
Thankfully for Steelers fans, they will have most of their tough games at home this season. They will travel to only three 2021 playoff teams in the Bengals, Bills and Eagles while they will have four visit Pittsburgh in the Bengals, Raiders, Patriots and Buccaneers.
Overall they’ll see a lot of the league’s top quarterbacks this season with divisional opponents Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson twice as well as Derek Carr, Josh Allen, Matt Ryan and Tom Brady. They will also face mid-tier starters in Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts.
The NFL is set to release each team’s schedule starting at 8 p.m. tonight.
