Steelers to Host Fast-Rising Florida State DT for Pre-Draft Visit

The Pittsburgh Steelers will host explosive Florida State defensive tackle Joshua Farmer for a pre-draft visit, Farmer said at the Florida State pro day on Friday.

Farmer detailed several upcoming visits, including the Steelers, when asked about his future draft prep plans following his pro day.

Farmer checked in at 6-foot-3, 305 pounds with 35-inch arms and 10 1/4-inch hands. He ran a 5.11-second 40-yard dash and posted a 29-inch vertical and a 9-foot-4 broad jump for an overall 7.85 Relative Athletic Score out of 10. Results from FSU’s pro day have not been reported.

The Steelers had scout and former cornerback Ike Taylor at the FSU pro day, working out the defensive backs like potential day two draft pick Azaraey’h Thomas and day three pick Fentrell Cypress.

But they aren’t forgetting about the FSU big man. The Steelers already met with Farmer once at the 2025 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama last two months ago, where he had a breakout performance.

Farmer had been No. 191 on the NFL Mock Draft Database consensus big board leading into the week in Mobile, but he jumped up immediately after the Senior Bowl and is now ranked No. 82 — one slot before the Steelers’ third-round pick at No. 83.

While the Steelers seem to be heavily targeting defensive tackle options in the first-round of the 2025 NFL Draft, their pre-draft visitor list has more day two and three options at the position, with Farmer joining Iowa’s Yayha Black and Ole Miss’ J.J. Pegues so far.
