PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers will be wearing their Color Rush uniforms for their Thursday Night Football game against the New England Patriots, the team announced on Tuesday.
The Steelers last wore their Color Rush uniforms against the Cincinnati Bengals last November. It’s the first time they’ll wear them this season. They have traditionally worn the uniforms for primetime games.
“It brings a different energy,” Steelers All-Pro outside linebacker T.J. Watt said last year. “Any time you get a signature game with its own jersey, it brings its own ice to it. We all get fired up. We love wearing the all black uniform with the gold. It really pops out. The fans get into as well.”
The team is also encouraging fans to wear all black for the game, and the club has painted the end zones at Acrisure Stadium for the first time this season.
