Video Breakdown: Steelers QB Kenny Pickett Impressive vs. Bengals

To say that Kenny Pickett’s sophomore campaign has gotten off to a rough start would be putting it lightly. However, following a coaching change, the PITT product delivered arguably his most complete game as a pro. The Steelers offense moved the ball practically at will on Sunday, with the quarterback being a pretty major factor in their success. the box score numbers weren’t gaudy, but he was efficient while appearing confident for the first time in a while. This performance felt both sustainable and replicable. It could be a sign of things to come down the stretch as Pittsburgh makes a playoff push.

Steelers Now analyst Derrick Bell breaks down nearly every drop back of Pickett’s day in Cincinnati, detailing the positives and negatives from the performance. This video also leans into some of the details of Pittsburgh’s passing game with several familiar concepts and a few wrinkles added in as well. The Steelers have needed more from the quarterback position and this felt like a step in the right direction. But it’s only one game so only time will tell if his progress carries over down the stretch as Pittsburgh pushes for the playoffs.
