THE LAST TIME
The Pittsburgh Steelers turned three Baltimore Ravens turnovers into three Chris Boswell field goals, as the kicker did it all in an 18-16 rivalry victory to put the Steelers a game and a half up in the AFC North.
The turnover battle tilted in Pittsburgh’s favor early on, as Nick Herbig ripped the ball from the hands of star Ravens running back Derrick Henry on the second play of the game.
The Steelers turned that into three points via Boswell field goal, something that ended up being a theme of the game.
Late in the first half, with the Steelers trailing, 7-6, the same paradigm played out. This time, it was former Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen that ripped the ball away from Baltimore tight end Isaiah Likely, setting up Boswell for his third of the game.
rWhile Boswell was the star of the offense for Pittsburgh, his opposite member, Justin Tucker, who has so often been a star of this rivalry, struggled. Tucker missed from 47 and 50 in the first half, flipping the lead into Pittsburgh’s favor.
STEELERS-RAVENS SERIES
This will be the 62nd meeting between the team since the Baltimore franchise was founded when it moved from Cleveland in 1996. The Steelers lead the all-time series 36-25, and most of that advantage has happened recently. Pittsburgh has won the last four games against Baltimore, eight of the last nine and 12 of the last 16 games.
PITTSBURGH CONNECTIONS
Practice squad call-ups, cornerback Desmond King and wide receiver Anthony Miller, both previously played for the Steelers.
Injured cornerback Art Maulet spent two seasons with the Steelers from 2021-22 before he asked for his release amid a contract dispute. Maulet signed with the Ravens in the 2023 offseason.
Practice squad defensive tackle Chris Wormley spent three seasons with the Steelers from 2020-22. A torn ACL cut short his time with the team. He previously played for Baltimore from 2017-19 and was a rare intra-divisional trade to Pittsburgh in 2020.
Quarterbacks coach Tee Martin was a fifth-round draft pick of the Steelers in 2000 and played two seasons in Pittsburgh. Wide receivers coach Greg Lewis held the same role at Pitt in 2014.
