Steelers Waive Injured TE Dax Raymond

The Pittsburgh Steelers have waived injured tight end Dax Raymond, the team announced on Friday.

Raymond was injured late in the Steelers’ practice session on Thursday. Head coach Mike Tomlin did not have an update on the nature of Raymond’s injuries after practice.

Raymond was also waived/injured after suffering an injury at Steelers camp in 202. He reverted to the team’s injured reserve and then was released with an injury settlement. He did not play for any other teams.

If Raymond clears waivers, he will once again revert to the injured reserve.

Raymond originally signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted rookie out of Utah State in 2019. He suffered a head injury in Chicago’s fourth preseason game and he was placed on the injured reserve, then later waived with an injury settlement and re-signed to Chicago’s practice squad. He finished the 2019 preseason with three catches for 22 yards.

The Steelers signed tight end Marcus Baugh to replace Raymond on the 90-man roster.
