Pittsburgh Steelers have waived injured wide receiver Javon McKinley and signed wide receiver Christian Blake, the team announced on Thursday.

McKinley had been a late addition to the training camp roster, after injuries to wide receivers Diontae and Chase Claypool. He was injured making a catch in the team’s practice on Wednesday.

Blake, 26, was waived by the Arizona Cardinals on Aug. 2. The 6-foot-1, 181-pound receiver played four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons from 2018-21.

He played nine games in 2019 and 16 games in 2020 and 2021. In total, he caught 28 of 51 targets for 257 yards.

Blake played collegiately at Northern Illinois, where he caught 82 for 972 yards and six touchdowns.

If McKinley clears waivers, he will revert to the Steelers injured reserve list.
