Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson will not return after leaving his team’s Thursday night game against the Cleveland Browns with a concussion.
Johnson was injured after an illegal helmet-to-helmet hit by Cleveland Browns defensive back Damarious Randall in the third quarter of the Steelers’ game at FirstEnergy Stadium.
He was seen bleeding from his ear and was carted off the field for evaluation. He was originally listed as questionable to return, but later downgraded to out after his concussion was confirmed.
The Steelers were already playing without starting receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who also left the game with a concussion after a helmet-to-helmet hit.
Johnson had two catches for 17 yards before leaving the game.
