Steelers WR Trade Options after Roman Wilson’s Injury

Ever since the Steelers traded away Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers, they’ve been searching for the proper compliment to George Pickens. This has been a heavy topic of discussion throughout the offseason but the noise only continues to get louder after rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson went down with an injury a couple days ago at training camp, one that will reportedly keep him out of action a couple of weeks. On paper, there are more question marks than answers even for an offense that will likely live in multi-tight end personnel as their base. The market is slim, but there are a handful of potential upgrades that could had for the right price.

SN analyst Derrick Bell breaks down several realistic trade options, ranging from potential passing game contributors, utility players, and even a couple intriguing dart throws to add to the bottom of the roster. We know that Omar Khan and company have been snooping around for quite some time but it takes two teams to agree on a deal. As we continue to get more information on how this unit is coming together during training camp, it should add more clarity on the true urgency behind making a move. It would be somewhat surprising if they simply sit pat in the lead up to the regular season, but the addition may not be the splash move that the fan base is currently anticipating.
