Still Want Arthur Smith Gone? | Steelers Morning Rush

Steelers Morning Rush: Do the people that wanted Arthur Smith to leave a week ago still want him gone after dropping 44 points on the Cincinnati Bengals?

Steelers Arthur Smith

Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it’s the team’s offensive explosion against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday and whether fans still want to let offensive coordinator Arthur Smith leave.

The news that Smith’s alma mater North Carolina had reached out last week left some fans saying “good riddance” to the first-year offensive coordinator, despite the Steelers being five points per game better than they were in 2023.

Sunday, Smith had his best game of the season, directing his charges to a 44-point offensive outburst in a game where they needed almost all of them to stay ahead of Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins and company.

Let Smith go? The Steelers just put up 500 yards for the first time since 2018 and Russell Wilson had the second-best game of his entire career. Build a statue instead!

Alan breaks it down.
