T.J. Watt On Schedule to Return After Bye Week From IR

PITTSBURGH — T.J. Watt is going to return soon. Although most assumed that Watt would return after the bye week,  defensive coordinator Teryl Austin confirmed that it is likely Watt will be back for Pittsburgh’s game against the New Orleans Saints on November 13th.

That is great news for the Steelers as they try to rebuild the defense. Austin even acknowledged that the Steelers overturned just about every stone but they were unsuccessful in their overall efforts to replace the reigning Defensive Player of the Year. Still, Watt should be back and give the Steelers a much-needed boost. He nearly played against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“He was pretty close, he was champing at the bit to play, I know that,” Austin said. “He just wasn’t ready, so Mike decided to wait until after the bye and we’ll work from there.”

T.J. Watt is not just an ordinary player that the Steelers would want for the second half of the season, but rather, perhaps the integral piece. As a game wrecker, Watt’s ability to take over games and simply change the outcomes of games on his own is wholly unique. When he finally does return, Watt will change how the Steelers can attack offenses schematically and take pressure off players on the back end of the defense.
