Texas A&M Guard Kenyon Green Met with Steelers, Loves Family Atmosphere

INDIANAPOLIS — The Pittsburgh Steelers have met with Texas A&M guard Kenyon Green at the 2022 NFL Combine, he said Thursday.

Green, who has been mocked to the Steelers multiple times throughout the first few months of the draft process, would be a plug-and-play option at one of the Steelers’ guard spots.

“I had a meeting with them my first day here, Tuesday,” Green said.

The Aggies product came out of the formal interview impressed. It was not just a normal meeting for Green, there was a certain atmosphere about the Steelers that he felt from that meeting alone.

“That meeting went great,” Green said. “They just have a family atmosphere. There is a certain feel to that organization. I loved my meeting with them.”

Green has played left guard primarily. However, he has registered over 80 snaps at left tackle, left guard, right guard, and right tackle. He is one of the most versatile linemen in the draft. That could draw the Steelers to him. He has natural connections to Pittsburgh with Dan Moore Jr. being drafted to Pittsburgh in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The team’s 2021 starter at right guard, Trai Turner, is a free agent, and the Steelers are searching the lands far and wide for offensive line help. With substandard offensive line play for two years in a row now, and with a bevy of turnover, the 2022 offseason will be another key landmark in building a new offensive line.
