Three Steelers Limited in Practice on Wednesday
Pittsburgh Steelers Montravius Adams, Calvin Austin III and Alex Highsmith were limited in practice on Wednesday.
PITTSBURGH — Three Pittsburgh Steelers players were limited in practice on Wednesday as they hope to return form injuries this week against the Cleveland Browns.
Outside linebacker Alex Highsmith (ankle), defensive tackle Montravius Adams (knee) and wide receiver Calvin Austin III (concussion) were all listed as limited in practice for Wednesday, which took place indoors at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.
Highsmith said after practice that he expects to play this week, after missing the last three games with a low left ankle sprain that he suffered in Week 10 against the Washington Commanders.
“It’s really a mental thing at this point just because I got to trust it, especially it being that ankle that’s the side I primarily play,” Highsmith said. “It’s feeling better, so the plan is to go this weekend. I just got to continue to get better throughout the week.”

Adams is in his second week of practice since opening his 21-day window while he remains on the injured reserve list. He first injured his left knee in practice and tried to play through it, but made it just one snap against the New York Jets before landing on the IR.
Austin suffered a concussion in the first half of the team’s Week 13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Players returning from a concussion without missing a game is rare, but not unprecedented, and his early return to practice should give hope for the possibility that he could play this week.

Cornerback Cory Trice Jr. was a full participant in practice and appears to be on track to be reinstated from the injured reserve list.
