Steelers wide receiver Dionte Johnson is partnering with Whip Fundraising for a fundraising event next spring titled the “Dionte Johnson Experience”.
“I’m excited to partner with Whip Fundraising, To Lift Spirits, and This Too Shall Pass Experience,” Johnson said. “I know it’s going to be a great time. Looking forward to it and I can’t wait to see you guys there.”
The event will provide donors with the chance to throw a pass to Johnson and have the moment commemorated via a signed 16×20 photograph of the play. Donors that contribute $1,250 can also bring a friend to capture the moment on their own device. No other items are allowed to be brought in with the intention of them being signed by the wideout. Additionally, donors will receive free food and drinks at the event while enjoying a musical act and time with players.
There is no confirmed location as of yet but the organizers plan on hosting the event at an outdoor football field in Pittsburgh, with an indoor field serving as a backup option in case of poor weather conditions. A specific date has not been released yet either, but donors can expect an email within 72 hours of the Super Bowl naming a time and place for the occasion. It has been confirmed, however, that the event will be on a weekend and take place between 1 and 6 p.m.
Johnson led the Steelers with 923 receiving yards last season after registering 88 receptions. He also found the endzone on seven occasions throughout his sophomore campaign.
